Project
To be able to execute the necessary bridge width of 16.75 m for the three-lane extension of the new bypass road of the municipality of Schwallungen in Thuringia without transverse tensioning, which would make later maintenance more difficult, the superstructure was designed as a triple girdered T-beam made of sealed airtight steel boxes. The span ratio is 28 m / 40 m / 50 m / 40 m / 28 m, and the piers, up to 25 m high, as well as the abutments, can have shallow foundations on the existing bedrock.
